What is VBD (Value-Based Drafting)?

VBD compares each player to the replacement-level player at their position — the best player available on waivers after the draft. A QB projected for 300 points might seem great, but if the replacement QB scores 250, his VBD is only 50. A WR projected for 200 with a replacement at 120 has a VBD of 80. VBD tells you which positions to prioritize at each pick.

What is ECR in fantasy football?

ECR stands for Expert Consensus Ranking — the average ranking of a player across multiple fantasy football analysts. ECR smooths out individual bias by aggregating expert opinions. Comparing ECR to ADP (Average Draft Position) reveals value gaps where players are being drafted too early or too late relative to expert opinion.

What is the difference between PPR and Standard rankings?

In PPR (Points Per Reception) scoring, players earn an extra point for each catch, making high-volume pass catchers more valuable. Standard scoring does not award points for receptions, making volume rushers and touchdown-dependent players relatively more valuable. Half-PPR splits the difference at 0.5 points per catch.
