About MLB Fantasy Baseball Popularity Rankings

These are the most popular MLB fantasy baseball players on Fantasy Team Advice for the 2026 season. Our rankings are based on real pageview data — showing which players the DFS and fantasy baseball community is researching the most. From aces to power hitters, these are the names driving the most interest across DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo contests.

How Popularity Rankings Work

Every time a user visits a player's page on Fantasy Team Advice, it counts as a pageview. Players with the most pageviews rise to the top of these rankings, giving you a real-time look at which players the DFS and fantasy community is researching the most.

Seasonal Decay: Keeping Rankings Fresh

At the end of each sport's season, we automatically reduce all player pageview counts by 75%. This ensures that retired, injured, or traded players don't remain artificially popular heading into the next season. The decay gives returning stars a head start based on prior interest while letting breakout rookies and new acquisitions climb the rankings quickly based on current research activity.

Why 75%?

A full reset would erase all signal. Keeping 25% of prior pageviews rewards players with sustained interest while still heavily favoring current-season activity. It's the sweet spot between memory and freshness.

When Does It Happen?

NBA & NHL: August 1st · NFL: March 1st · MLB: November 1st — timed to each sport's offseason so rankings are fresh when the new season begins.

How to Use These Rankings for MLB DFS

Build lineups with these trending players using our MLB DFS Optimizer, or check today's MLB Starting Lineups to see who's in the starting lineup.

Popular players often correlate with high ownership in DFS contests. If you're building contrarian GPP lineups, consider fading the most popular names in favor of lesser-owned alternatives. For cash games, these rankings confirm which players the sharp community is targeting.

Data Source & Methodology

Rankings update automatically as users visit player pages throughout the 2026 season. At the end of each season, popularity counts are reduced so that the most currently relevant players rise to the top. Players are ranked by total pageviews with fantasy production as a tiebreaker.
