Wow. Last night was… something. The Denver Nuggets absolutely destroyed the Warriors in Denver with basically a 6 man rotation! And somehow.. the Warriors just laid down and took it despite the Nuggets ranking as one of the worst defense in the league. To say that Curry and Durant’s performances were disappointing would be putting it mildly, but at least the recommended Denver plays paid off in a big way as Jokic dropped a monster triple double for 67 points and Barton poured in 51 fantasy points of his own. Oh, and apparently the Hernangomez family as some talent as Juancho posted a 50-burger as well! Tonight our attention turns to the new kid on Zubac … Ivica Zubac from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ivica Zubac | Daily DFS NBA Draftkings Tuesday 2/14
Ivica Zubac – Los Angeles Lakers ($3800) vs Kings
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Three game slates = GPP only for me. I see no reason to dive into cash games with most players being at least 30% owned, and one wrong move spelling doom for your night. The reason I point this out, is Zubac is my favorite GPP play of the evening. The future is now for the Lakers as they have moved Mozgov to the bench to help stir the gatorade, starting Tarik Black and having Zubac play 20+ minutes per game off the bench. With Demarcus Cousins coming in tonight, Tarik or Randle should be in early foul trouble which should help solidify Zubac’s 20+ minute role this evening. Over his past 3 games Zubac has averaged 20 minutes and 22.75 fantasy points. He is strictly a GPP play however due to his floor, as he posted just 13 fantasy points against the Pistons, but he has tremendous upside as evidenced by his 28.75 against the Knicks and 26.5 against Milwaukee. I’ll likely have at least 75% exposure to Zubac tonight as he could return 8x value or better to help take down a GPP in a crowded field.
Other Options: Lucas Nogueira, Jonas Valanciunas, Karl-Anthony Towns
Michael Carter-Williams – Chicago Bulls ($5200) vs Raptors
Remember, the theme here is GPP. Kyrie Irving is almost certainly going to be the highest owned play of the night with Kevin Love out, but MCW has a ton of upside at his current price tag with both Butler and Wade expected to be out. Last game MCW played 30 minutes, shot just 4-12 from the field, and yet he still managed to post 31.25 fantasy points. Tonight’s matchup isn’t the best, as the Raptors sport the best SG defense in the league, but thats what makes MCW such a great play, especially considering the amount of fantasy points he generates from rebounding and assists.
Other Options: Kyrie Irving, Darren Collison, Kyle Lowry, Ricky Rubio, Rajon Rondo
Demar Derozan – Toronto Raptors ($8000) at Bulls
I’d LOVE to lock in Collison here, but $7100 is a tough price tag to swallow with Ty Lawson questionable. And, for just $900 more you can get an exponentially more skilled player in Demar Derozan who should see around 38 minutes against a Bulls team he already dropped 54 fantasy points on earlier this season. Over his last 10 games Demar has been the model of consistency, only dropping under 34 fantasy points one time, while clearing 40 fantasy points twice. He consistently sees 22+ shots per game, and against MCW or any other subpar defender the Bulls choose to trot out Demar should have a field day. While he may not have 7x value upside, I think he is the safest play at the SG position tonight.
Other Options: Darren Collison, Brandon Rush, Nick Young, Arron Afflalo
Lebron James – Cleveland Cavaliers ($10500) at Timberwolves
Well, you have to play the chalk eventually. Lebron will most likely be the highest owned player on tonight’s slate, and for good reason as his usage increases with Love off the court, and the Wolves have no one to get in his way defensively. Last meeting with MIN, Love was out, and Cleveland blew out Minnesota as Lebron coasted to 27 points, 12 assists and 8 rebounds for 62 fantasy points! With the game in Minnesota tonight we should expect a much tighter contest meaning Lebron has 65+ fantasy point upside. Get him in your lineups tonight.
Other Options: Demarre Carroll, Matt Barnes, Larry Nance Jr., Doug McDermott
Karl-Anthony Towns – Minnesota Timberwolves ($10000) vs Cavaliers
If you’ve been reading my work for any amount of time you know I LOVE to play KAT at home. His splits this year are incredible as Towns is averaging nearly 9 fantasy points more at home in Minnesota (51.3) than on the road (42.5)! With Cleveland coming into town I expect the starters to play nearly 40 minutes each in this contest as the Timberwolves look to hang tight with the defending NBA champs. Last game against CLE Towns dropped 55 fantasy points in 38 minutes, I expect a similar performance tonight with the upside for more.
Other Options: Bobby Portis (GPP), Taj Gibson, Demarcus Cousins, Channing Frye, Gorgui Dieng
Zubac is a high risk high reward play tonight. If you have any questions or comments about my picks be sure to find me in FTA+ live chat leading up to tip off. Thanks for reading and good luck with your Draftkings daily DFS NBA lineups tonight!
