Taking a look at the week 10 running back matchups for 2017 fantasy football we have a number of inconsistent performers in plus matchups including Orleans Darkwa, Aaron Jones, and Jerick McKinnon. If you’re an Ezekiel Elliott or Leonard Fournette owner they remain locked and loaded RB1’s as they also face plus matchups (assuming Zeke doesn’t get suspended at some point).
For those new to the running back matchups article these are NOT rankings. The numbers laid out below showcase the matchups for each running back this week, and highlight the average fantasy points per game allowed by each defense to the opposing starting running back. My weekly running back rankings are updated daily and are available on our NFL spreadsheet page.
Week 10 Running Back Matchups
|Defense||% Allowed vs Average||% Allowed vs Average||RB Affected|
Week 10 Running Back Matchups to target: Orleans Darkwa has been seeing a solid number of carries recently for the Giants, and in a game where New York should actually be competitive Darkwa should see 15+ touches making him a solid RB2. Aaron Jones barely saw the field in the 2nd half against the Lions in week 9 as the Packers were playing from behind, but the Bears are suffering from the same offensive struggles as the Packers so Jones should be able to see 10-15 carries as well leaving him as a low end RB2.
Week 10 Running back matchups to avoid: With bye weeks still in full effect you’ll probably still have to be starting guys like Doug Martin, Kenyan Drake and Dion Lewis. Keep in mind none of the matchups are absolutely awful as they are allowing just 20-30% fewer fantasy points per game than average.Winning fantasy football matchups
