Time to focus on the tight end matchups heading into week 6 of the 2017 fantasy football season. With 5 weeks of data in the rearview mirror we’re getting a pretty good idea of which teams cover the TE well (CAR) and which teams struggle to contain opposing tight ends (CLE). The table below shows the best matchups available this week.
Week 6 Tight End Matchups | 2017
|Defense||% Allowed vs Average||% Allowed vs Average||TE Affected|
As you can see, starting any tight end against the Cleveland Browns is a great idea. Ryan Griffin should be a DFS darling in week 6 for Draftkings and Fanduel contests as Cleveland hasn’t been able to stop a tight end so far this season.
Interestingly the Washington Redskins are a plus matchup for tight ends as well. The likely cause of this being their elite corners and solid run defense. Washington is the most exposed over the middle meaning George Kittle could build upon his solid numbers from last week.
Zach Ertz has posted a dominant season thus far, and faces his toughest test with the Carolina Panthers defense. Given all the injuries to tight ends this season no one should be considering benching Ertz. Fire him up as normal and hope he is able to overcome a difficult matchup
