Round the Bases (MLB DraftKings Picks) | 06/24/2019

Yesterday was a great return to FTA as DK and FD were in the green and from the looks of the chat room after the slate ended, many subscribers had green screens as well. Great all around team effort and now we look to take that into tonight’s seven game slate. Today’s article will be a little shorter as I have to take a buddy into Chicago for a doctor’s appointment, but I will be in chat most of the day on my phone and leading up to lock. It is very important to check into our FTA Discord Chat each night as some of my plays here might change as lineups start coming out. Check out our A.C.E. Projection System as well to help with building your winning lineups. You can also follow and DM me on twitter @DRockDFS.

Pitchers

Eduardo Rodriguez, BOS ($8700)

The Boston Red Sox and Eduardo Rodriguez are home to take on the Chicago White Sox. With the starters we are presented with today, I actually feel the safest with Rodriguez. The White Sox have a 24% K Rate against LHP this season with a .140 collective ISO. They will be right handed heavy and this year Rodriguez has a 25% K Rate with a low 28% HH Rate. He also has a 12% SwStr Rate which matches Clayton Kershaw this year. The Indians have an IRTA of 3.9 which is third lowest on the slate as of right now. The White Sox can be tricky as they do have a .316 wOBA against LHP this year, but with some of the top tier pitchers tonight not having favorable match-ups I have no problem attacking them in Boston.

Others: C.C. Sabathia, C. Kershaw,

Infielders:

Anthony Rizzo, CHC (1B, $4600)

Well the Vegas line hasn’t been released at the time of this writing but I fully expect it to be well north of 5 runs as the Cubs face RHP Julio Teheran tonight at Wrigley. The forecast is calling for 18 mph winds straight out to center which might make this game a home run derby. I’ve been attacking Teheran quite often this year with success. He has a 5.68 xFIP and giving up a 41.6% HH Rate against LHB this year and also comes into tonight with a SIERA north of 5. Rizzo is my top overall hitter on the night as he comes in with a .409 wOBA, elite .286 ISO, 154 WRC+ and a 45% HH Rate against RHP. Rizzo is my #DFSHomeRunCall tonight.

Francisco Lindor, CLE (SS, $4900)

Remember when Lindor was $3900 and we were saying play him because once July comes around he will be well north of $5k. Its almost July, Lindor is heating up and he is $100 short of $5K. He gets a date at home against RHP Brad Keller and the Royals tonight. Keller against RHB this year has a 4.2 xFIP and only a 15% K Rate. Lindor is hitting for a .365 wOBA, .239 ISO and a 46.5% HH Rate against RHP this year. On top of all that, Lindor will give you the stolen base upside. The Indians have an IRT of 5.5 runs, just keep your eye out as weather looks to be a small concern there.

Others: N. Arenado, B. Belt, C. Santana, J. Segura, DJ LeMahieu, J. Donaldson, D. Swanson

Outfielders

Kyle Schwarber, CHC (OF, $3900)

This is a simple one for me and my “LOCK” of the night. I already mentioned in Rizzo’s blurb how much I like attacking Teheran. Well Schwarber should be leading off tonight unless Joe gets a bug up his sleeve for some reason. Batting lead off this year Schwarber has a massive .297 ISO and a .345 wOBA. Against RHP he has a .327 wOBA and a .238 ISO. The power is there, the wind is strong and blowing straight out. Oh did I mention DraftKings don’t believe in him so he is priced below $4K? Don’t over think this one as I’m sure he will be heavy chalk tonight.

Giancarlo Stanton, NYY (OF, $4500)

This spot was going to be for Acuna, but I figured I’d get some Yankee exposure in here. I know the rule is usually Stanton against a lefty, but this feels like a great spot tonight against RHP Aaron Sanchez and the Blue Jays. Vegas agrees as they have the Yankees sitting on an IRT well north of 6 runs. Last year Stanton had a .337 wOBA with a .215 ISO against RHP. Honestly it isn’t his numbers that make me like him tonight, it’s Sanchez’s numbers. In 2019 Sanchez has a SIERA of 5.43 with only a 9% SwStr rate. Against RHB he has a sub 6 xFIP with a .371 wOBA. Stanton’s upside is way to high in this matchup to pass up on at only $4500 on a night where pitching isn’t going to cost you a ton of your salary.

Others: R. Acuna JR, J. Heyward, C. Gonzalez, B. Harper, C. Bellinger, J. Pederson, A. Hicks, A. Riley
