Round the Bases (MLB DraftKings Picks) | 05/13/19

This was a great weekend and I hope all had a great Mother’s Day. We started the weekend by celebrating my Wife’s Birthday and then followed that with a Mothers Day brunch. We topped off the weekend by cashing both slates Saturday night and Sunday on DraftKings. Oh and my Cubbies took two of three from the Brewers. Tonight we get a short six game slate and I find it a very interesting one for cash. There is a couple different ways to go with pitching tonight and some under priced bats to grab a hold of. It don’t look like much is on the radar for weather tonight, maybe a shower in Philly later that we will have to keep an eye on. It is very important to check into chat each night as some of my plays here might change as lineups start coming out. Make sure to join us in chat as we fully break down the slate and the other MLB analysts, including myself list our core plays for both cash games and tournaments. Check out our new A.C.E. Projection System as well to help with building your winning lineups. You can also follow and DM me on twitter @DRockDFS. Want to join us but are not sure if you want to pay a monthly sub fee yet? Pitcher

Brad Peacock, HOU ($8500)

Peacock and the red hot Astros get a date with the Detroit Tigers and their 26% K Rate, .144 ISO, and 77 WRC+ against RHP this season. Peacock seems way under priced for tonight’s matchup at only $8.5K. In 2019 he has a 3.8 SIERA and a 24.7% K Rate. His swing and miss rating is down this season compared to last year but he should have no problem mowing down this weak Tigers lineup. The Astros are a -160 favorite and have the lowest IRTA on the slate of 3.8 runs.

Infielders

Francisco Lindor, CLE (SS, $4700)

Short stop tonight can be tricky but I see no problem in paying for Lindor tonight while he is still under $5K. I can see most of the public taking the $200 discount on Correa but Matt Boyd has been a very decent against RHB this season. I’d rather attack Reynaldo Lopez and his 6.44 xFIP, 2 HR/9, .444 wOBA, and 39% HH Rate given up to LHB in 2019. Lindor has struggled this year but he still has a 41% HH Rate and in 2018 he had a .243 ISO with a .348 wOBA against RHP. This is a solid spot for Lindor to break out tonight.

Jose Ramirez, CLE (3B, $4300)

I just wrote up how bad Lopez is against LHB so I am also going to include the under priced JRam here also. Just like Lindor JRam is struggling to get going in 2019 but he also has a 41% HH Rate against RHP over his last 30 AB’s. In 2018 JRam had a .315 ISO, .410 wOBA and a 159 WRC+ against RHP. You also get SB upside and Lopez has a 13% BB Rate this season. CLE has a 4.7 IRT tonight which is the third highest as of right now just behind Arizona and Minnesota. He won’t be this cheap for long so take advantage now.

Outfielders

David Peralta, ARI (OF, $5100)

$5100 seems a little pricey and might force my hand into a gpp play tonight but as of right now I don’t have a problem paying this tag for Peralta tonight. The Diamondbacks have the highest IRT on the slate of 5.1 runs and face RHP Nick Kingham. He has only pitched 16 innings this season but over that has a 4.6 xFIP. In 2018 Kingham against LHB gave up a .400 wOBA, 5.5 xFIP, 2.55 HR/9 and a 4.4 SIERA. Peralta over his last 30 AB’s against RHP has a .376 wOBA, .240 ISO and a 42% HH Rate. The A.C.E. Projection System is projecting Peralta for a .427 wOBA tonight. Peralta is my #DFSHomeRunCall on tonight’s short six game slate.

Bryce Harper, PHI (OF, $4300)

This is a joke right, the $300 million dollar guy only $4.3K. Wow. Harper is way to cheap tonight especially with a matchup against RHP Freddy Peralta. On the season against LHB Peralta has given up 2.38 HR/9, a 4.95 xFIP, .360 wOBA and a 40% HH Rate. Harper only has a .303 wOBA over his last 30 AB’s against RHP but also has a HH Rate of 45%. Over Harper’s career against RHP he has a .395 wOBA, elite .253 ISO, and a 149 WRC+. I got Harper locked in tonight and expect a huge game out of him.
