I ran my cash streak to three days again on Wednesday night thanks to some power pitching and strong games by hitters that were highlighted in Wednesdays Round the Bases. Cole Hamels was spectacular, even though he was chalky and I got off of Hellickson once I saw the Minnesota game was going to play and got a strong outing from Odorizzi scoring 22.55 fantasy points. Choi was to cheap and not as high owned as I thought he would be and went yard for us. Choo also kept his strong start to the season going with two hits, one for a triple and two RBIs. It is very important to check into chat each night as some of my plays here might change as lineups start coming out. Cole Hamels, CHC ($9400) = 33.95
Ji-Man Choi, TB ($3700) = 25
Alex Bregman, HOU ($4100) = 2
Shin-Soo Choo, TEX ($4500) = 21
Brandon Belt, SF ($3900) = 11
Tonight we have 14 games on tap and a mess of weather ahead of us as games in BAL, PIT, NY (AL), CLE, and DET all have either chances of PPD or late starts. Very important to be in chat tonight as we find the edge in all the weather issues. To make things even better, Coors is on the slate and has no weather issues tonight. Lets make this Good Friday a Great Friday.
Atlanta @ Cleveland PPD
Anibal Sanchez, WAS ($8100)
Continuing the retro theme here for pitcher as Anibal Sanchez gets the Miami Marlins tonight. Sanchez hasn’t been nothing to write home about this year but Miami has a 26% K Rate and a .266 wOBA in 2019, both third worst in the league. Sanchez has a 4.06 xFIP and a 42% GB Rate in 2019 and gets a pitcher friendly park in Miami tonight. Attacking Miami has been a thing of mine here of late and there is no reason to change that tonight.
Jeimer Candelario, DET (3B, $3300)
The Detroit Tigers face LHP Carlos Rendon and the Chicago White Sox tonight. Candelario hasn’t had the best start to 2019 but $3300 is to cheap especially on a Coors slate when we need value. In 2018 he against LHP he had a .363 wOBA and a 131 WRC+ and Rondon in 2018 notched a 5.13 xFIP to RHB. This will cost to you Arenado but open up salary for other spots. To top it off, he will most likely be hitting cleanup.
Carlos Correa, HOU (SS, $4500)
Houston is in Texas tonight, also known as Coors SouthWest in chat, to take on LHP Drew Smyly. This game is actually more interesting to me than the Coors game itself. Houston has a 5.7 IRT tied with COL for the highest on the slate. Over Carlos Correa’s last 30 AB’s he has a .361 wOBA, 135 WRC+ and a 38% HH Rate against LHP. Smyly in 2019 so far has a 5.6 xFIP, 58% HH Rate and a 41% FB Rate. If this game was in Coors, Correa would be at least $5.5K tonight.
Others: J. Altuve, J. Harrison, N. Goodrum, A. Rendon, J. Polanco
Nicholas Castellanos, DET (OF, $3900)
This is another value play as we will need at the least three tonight to get some solid bats and not have to punt at pitcher. Castellanos over his last 30 has a .327 wOBA and a 36% HH Rate and with Carlos Rondon posting a 5.13 xFIP to RHB in 2018, that is a value I like for under $4K and batting in the top four tonight. For gpp tonight, I like DET RHB as filler stacks in case you haven’t noticed that yet. They are cheap and all have the ability to have a solid ceiling.
David Dahl, COL (OF, $4600)
A Coors bat for under $5K tonight, sign me up. If I need some exposure ti Coors it will be through David Dahl. Coming off injury is why his price is deflated most likely, but if he is in the lineup tonight I will be all over it. In 2018 he had a .378 wOBA against RHP and in 9 games this year has a .403 wOBA and a 134 WRC+ against RHP. Dahl and the Rockies get RHP Vince Velasquez tonight in Coors. Dating back to last season Velasquez has a 4.5 xFIP, 35% HH Rate and given up a .367 wOBA to LHB. To no surprise Coors is tied with HOU for the highest IRT on the slate with HOU as mentioned above and there is no weather concerns for either game in COL or TEX.
