Anthony Rizzo lifts a flyball at Dodger Stadium while batting for the Cubs

Last night was another good night for FTA to start the year as we had a lot of green screens, along with some subs coming real close to take downs. The A.C.E. Projection System is looking like money early. Make sure you join us in chat as we fully break down the slate and the other MLB analyst as well as myself list our core plays for both cash games and tournaments. 03/29/19 Recap

I cashed easily last night due to fading Gerrit Cole for some big bats in Khris Davis and J.D. Martinez who both went yard. Joey Lucchesi had a solid game pretty much matching Cole, fantasy points wise, for $3300 less. It was a fun night of baseball and I look to carry the streak into both slates today.
Joey Lucchesi, SDP ($7900) = 27 FPts
Albert Pujols, LAA (1B, $3400) = 2 FPts
Jurickson Profar, OAK (1B/2B, $3800) = 2 FPts
Justin Turner, LAD (3B, $4200) = 9 FPts
Domingo Santana, SEA (OF, $3900) = 21 FPts
Mike Trout, LAA (OF, $5700) = 16 FPts

DraftKings decided to put 6 games on the early slate starting at 1:05 ET and 6 games on the main starting at 7:10 ET. These picks are for the main slate but at the bottom I will list some of my favorite plays for the early slate as well. We really don’t have no weather concerns for the main as of right now, except for some strong winds blowing straight out in Texas tonight. As a reminder these players are suggestions for DK cash games.

Pitcher

Kenta Maeda, LAD ($10,100)

This slate is lacking some starting pitching so we really need to hope for the best. Out of all the starters I feel the safest with Maeda and his 3.17 IRTA, which is the lowest on the slate, against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Maeda has the ability to be a top of the rotation starter if the Dodgers would just let him pitch, as they like to limit his pitch count like they are trying to save him for 2025. In 2018 he posted a 3.37 xFIP, 40.2% GB Rate, and a 28.8% K Rate, all impressive numbers. Last year the Diamondbacks struck out at a 23% clip, sixth worst in the majors, and they have already have a K rate over 27% in just 2 games this season. I have no problem paying up for him, I just hope Roberts don’t pull him after 85 pitches if he has it going tonight.

Infielders

Anthony Rizzo, CHC (1B, $5000)

Just like opening day, the Cubs are going to be the chalk again tonight in Texas. The highest IRT on the slate and to top it off, if Texas wasn’t already a great hitters park, 19 mph winds straight out to right field. My #DFSHRCall of the night goes to Rizzo. Last season he slashed a .378 wOBA, .211 ISO, and 34% HH Rate against RHP. Edinson Volquez has a career 4.56 xFIP and a 31.7 HH Rate. He isn’t really a fly ball pitcher, but with the conditions it won’t take much to knock one out of the park. I will have Rizzo in all my cash games tonight.

Max Muncy, LAD (1B/3B, $4300)

A .418 wOBA, .340 ISO, and a 47.85 HH Rate against RHP is what Muncy put together last season for the Dodgers. He should be hitting in the clean-up spot tonight against the Diamondbacks and RHP Zack Godley, who posted a 4.07 xFIP, and a 39.4% HH Rate against LHB last season. If he can’t find his command the Dodgers could strike often tonight. Muncy gets a 69.3 FTA Floor Rating, fifth highest for position players, on tonight’s slate according to The A.C.E. Projection System.

Rougned Odor, TEX (2B, $4200)

Just like the Cubs, Texas should have a fair amount of ownership as well as they face a hopefully healthy Yu Darvish. Darvish has been riddled with injury’s and already had to leave his last spring start due to a blister on his finger. Darvish will have his hands full tonight in Texas and Rougned Odor, projected to hit second, had a 45.4% HH Rate and a sub .330 wOBA against RHP last season. Odor has SB potential as well swiping 12 bases out of 24 attempts last season. With the total sitting at 9.5, I’m willing to take a chance on Odor tonight.

Outfielders

Christian Yelich, MIL (OF, $5100)

The reigning NL MVP is starting off how he ended 2018, hot. In his first 2 games Yelich as went deep twice and has 4 RBI’s to go with 3 BB. The Brewers have the second highest IRT on the slate at 4.57 and face off against the Cardinals young prospect Dakota Hudson. Yelich against a rookie making his first career start in the majors, yes please. In 19 starts in AAA Hudson had a 4.35 xFIP along with 18% K Rate. The thing that impresses me was his 57.5 GB% in AAA and then when he came up to the Majors it improved to 60.8%. Still though Yelich had a .428 wOBA, .287 ISO and a 48.2% HH Rate last year. Play Yelich in cash tonight but don’t be afraid to start Hudson in a gpp.

Ben Zobrist, CHC (2B/OF, $4000)

This will be a thing in 2019, when the Cubs face a LHP Almora will lead off and Zobrist will lead off against RHP. Like I mentioned above the Cubs have the highest IRT on the slate and are in a great hitting environment. A.C.E. Projections has Zo as the highest valued outfielder on the slate tonight, and a 81.1 FTA Floor Rating. Leading off for the highest IRT on the slate and a wOBA north of .300 last year against RHP is enough for me to get him into my cash line tonight.

3/30/19 Early Slate

Not going to go into detail but here is some plays I like for the early slate today:

Robinson Cano, Brett Gardner, Luke Voit, Aaron Judge, Jorge Soler, Billy McKinney

You can join us in chat for more advice on getting your lines ready for both slates tonight, along with using our A.C.E. Projection System. I should be in chat most of the day to answer your questions along with other analyst’s and you can always get a hold of me on Twitter as well. Good Luck tonight and Play Ball.
