Pitching for me last night was a disaster, I tried getting slick and it completely failed. Jon Gray was chalky in cash last night and managed 20.2 FPts but the big spotlight was Acuna as he had an R.B.I. triple in the first and followed that up later in the game with a solo HR. Brandon Belt also had a BB and a double for decent value against the Rockies. - Jon Gray, COL ($9300) = 20.20 FPts
- Brandon Belt, SF (1B/OF, $3800) = 7 FPts
- Manny Machado, SDP (3B, $4400) = 7 FPts
- Ronald Acuna Jr., ATL (OF, $5000) = 27 FPts
- J.D. Martinez, BOS (OF, $5200) = 13 FPts.
12 game main slate tonight on Draft Kings with rain looking to affect New York (AL) and Washington. Make sure to be in chat for weather updates as both games provide decent plays for tonight’s slate. I’m getting a late start on this today so it will be a little more brief than usual, but if you want more info on my plays for tonight, I will be in chat leading up to lock and you can also DM on Twitter @DRockDFS.
Chad Bettis, COL ($5800)
This is isn’t by any means a stud play but on a night where I want to get some Boston and Oakland bats, I am ok with going all the way down to Bettis. On the road in 2018 he had a 4.6 xFIP but had a 52% GB Rate and gets to pitch in one of the more favorable pitchers parks in the league, Oracle Park, tonight. The Giants have a 25% K rate to RHP this year and are bottom 4 in ISO and dead last in wOBA with a .251 in the league. I’m ok with Bettis being an SP2 tonight.
Mitch Moreland, BOS (1B, $4500)
Boston has the highest IRT on the slate tonight at 6.2 and gets to face RHP David Hess. In 2018 Hess gave up 2.55 HR/9 with a 5.64 xFIP against LHB and over Moreland’s last 30 AB’s he is slashing a .447 wOBA, 0.475 ISO, 185 WRC+ and 48% HH Rate.
Robinson Cano, NYM (2B, $3700)
This is more of a salary saver for me tonight, Cano is hitting third against RHP Kyle Wright and the Atlanta Braves. Cano is not off to the best start with New York but Wright is projected by FTA for a 4.5 xFIP and a .405 wOBA tonight. To get BOS and OAK bats you are going to need under $4K plays tonight and Cano is one of the better ones. Cano is actually #1 ranked 2B on tonight’s slate by the A.C.E. Projection System.
Others: M. Semien, M. Chapman, X. Bogaerts, J. Altuve, J. Alfaro
Khris Davis, OAK (OF, $4900)
Davis under $5K seems like a joke to me. He has shown that he is one of the best power hitters in all of baseball and tonight gets another LHP to tee off on. Over Davis’s last 30 AB’s he has a .403 wOBA, .422 ISO, 162 WRC+ and a 40% HH Rate, all of which are elite numbers. He is also getting a huge park upgrade tonight going to Texas and will face Drew Smyly who has barely pitched in two years. Don’t over think it tonight, just get Davis in your cash lines. Oakland has the third highest IRT tonight at 5.4 runs.
Ender Inciarte, ATL (OF, $3700)
This is another play for me that is all about price and batting order spot. Inciarte is leading off for the Braves tonight against RHP Zack Wheeler and the New York Mets. The Braves have an IRT of 4.9 runs tonight and if Inciarte can get on bases he has plenty of power behind him to give him the floor we need at his price.
Others: B. Belt, S. Priscotty, M. Betts, J.D. Martinez, S. Choo, R. Acuna Jr, A. Benintendi
