I ran the cash streak to 5 straight last night with the help of my hitters since my pitchers didn’t offer much. Trey Mancini, my #DFSHomeRunCall yesterday, didn’t waste anytime to hit one. In his first at bat of the night he took Estrada deep and then went on for 2 more singles, 2 BB and another RBI. Domingo Santana didn’t make my final cut which is a shame because he had another solid game as the M’s routed the Royals. Instead I went with Rhys Hoskins, who blasted 2 solo home runs in a 4-3 win over the Washington Nationals. At the end of the night there was a lot of green screens posted in the chat room as the analysts were on point along with the A.C.E. Projection System. We look to keep the hot streak going tonight so make sure you join us in chat as we fully break down the slate and the other MLB analysts, including myself list our core plays for both cash games and tournaments. - Eric Lauer, SD ($7500) = 19.30 FPts.
- Whit Merrifield, KC (2B/OF, $4500) = 8 FPts.
- Anthony Rendon, WAS (3B, $4200) = 5 FPts.
- Domingo Santana, SEA (OF, $4300) = 21 FPts.
- Trey Mancini, BAL (1B/OF, $4200) = 28 FPts.
Tonight we have a 10 game main-slate that includes Coors field and also Jacob Degrom at home against the Minnesota Twins. Weather looks to be really good tonight as no parks have rain in the forecast. San Francisco looks to have an 18 mph gust straight out to right field but its also 13 hours before 1st pitch. If there is something you would like to see more of in Round the Bases, please dm me on Twitter and I’ll try to get it in.
Marco Gonzales, SEA ($7600)
An SP2 with an IRTA of 4.6 on the road doesn’t sound like the best idea right? Just hear me out. Seattle is on a roll right now, as a team they have a .284 ISO and 168 WRC+ both tops in the league to start 2019 and a .398 wOBA which is second. Last year Gonzales was worse on the road but against RHB he was better with a 21% K Rate and 3.59 xFIP compared to a 4.36 xFIP against LHB. The Royals are projected to start 8 RHB tonight and we need the savings to fit Degrom and some Coors bats. I expect Seattle to give Gonzales plenty of run support tonight against Jakob Junis. I’m ok with sending Gonzales out as my SP2 tonight behind Degrom.
Christian Walker, ARI (1B, $4200)
The Diamondbacks are home tonight with a 4.6 IRT against LHP Mike Minor and the Texas Rangers. Dating back to last season Minor has a 4.78 xFIP and a 38% HH Rate against RHB. Walker over his last 30 AB’s against LHP has a .408 wOBA, elite .414 ISO and a great 145 WRC+. According to our state-of-the-art A.C.E. Projection System, Walker gets a 30.2% HH Boost tonight. I wish he was hitting in the top 4 but I’m still willing to roll him out hitting fifth. Walker is my #DFSHomeRunCall for the night.
Trevor Story, COL (SS, $5100)
LHP Max Fried will start for the Braves tonight in Coors. The Rockies have an IRT of 5.6 runs which is the highest on the slate. Fried looked solid in his 1st start against the Cubs going 6 innings with 5 K’s and no ER’s, but that wasn’t Coors field and the weather conditions were very favorable for pitching that day. Trevor Story in 2018 at home against LHP had elite numbers: .527 wOBA, 222 WRC+, .505 ISO, 48.7% HH Rate. I will be locking Story in at SS tonight.
Others: Rhys Hoskins, Nolan Arenado, Max Muncy, Corey Seager, Wilson Ramos, Ketel Marte
Adam Jones, ARI (OF, $4000)
Jones is off to a fast start in his new home and I expect him to keep it rolling tonight against LHP Mike Minor. As you can see from my blurb above about Walker, I really like the ARI RHB tonight. Over Jones last 30 he is slashing an elite .462 wOBA and a 178 WRC+. Jones will be leading off tonight and should see 4-5 AB’s in a favorable matchup.
Domingo Santana, SEA (OF, $4100)
Santana has been in this article quite frequently lately and for good reason. DraftKings refuses to up his price and instead they drop it $200 from last night. He is hitting in the top 3 of the best offense to start 2019, the Seattle Mariners, and now has a .451 wOBA, .300 ISO, and a 207 WRC+ in his last 30 with a 47% HH Rate. Seattle has an IRT of 4.4 tonight against the Royals with an O/U of 9. Santana is the A.C.E. Projection Systems third highest TruV outfielder on the night and my top OF for tonight’s 10 game slate.
Others: Shin-Soo Choo, Jorge Soler, Trey Mancini, Nomar Mazara
