Thank you Mitch Moreland, his late HR last night helped me vault into the cash in all my doubles last night. A solid game from Bieber as he struck out 9 in 6 IP and Lorenzo Cain going 2-4 with a double, R, and a SB also helped setup my core for a solid night. Make sure you join us in chat as we fully break down the slate and the other MLB analyst as well as myself list our core plays for both cash games and tournaments. Check out our new A.C.E. Projection System as well to help with building your winning lineups. You can also follow me on twitter @DRockDFS.
- Shane Bieber, CLE ($9300) = 25.10 FPts.
- Adam Frazier, PIT (2B, $3800) =7 FPts.
- Alex Bregman, HOU (3B/SS, $4800) = 10 FPts.
- Lorenzo Cain, MIL (OF, $4000) = 17 FPts.
- J.D. Martinez, BOS (OF, $5000) = 5 FPts.
Welcome to Coors day, as the red hot dodgers offense visits the Rockies on tonight’s main slate. DK is giving us an early 6 game slate followed by a 6 game main slate tonight. I will go over some cash plays for both slates in today’s Round the Bases and remember to join us in chat leading up to both locks for more insights on getting into the green on both slates.
Jake Arrieta, PHI ($9100)
The Phillies are living up to the hype right now as they have scored 49 runs in their first 6 games to start the Harper era. Arrieta had some control issues in his first start walking 6 but also striking out 6 in 6 IP. In 2018 he had a 52% GB Rate and limited hitters to a 28% HH Rate. He has a 3.6 IRTA and is a -145 favorite to get the win against the Twins at home today. I have no problem with making Jake the Snake my SP1 in cash games on the early as I expect the Phillies to continue their hot streak against RHP Michael Pineda.
Kyle Wright, ATL ($7300)
Atlanta is a -165 favorite tonight against the Miami Marlins at home. Vanderbilt alum, Kyle Wright will take the mound with the second lowest IRT of 3.7 runs on tonight’s main slate. Wright averaged almost 9 K/9 in the minors last year and not much about the Miami offense scares me away from playing him. In his first start of the season he got thrown to the wolves and had to face the Phillies, Miami has no where near the offense as Philly and they are striking out at a 23% rate to start 2019. Fire him up as your SP2 for tonight’s main slate.
Omar Narvaez, SEA (C, $3500)
Normally I wouldn’t put a catcher here as most look to punt at the position on DK anyway, but at the same time most articles you read this morning are going to be stacked with Philly players and for good reason. Narvaez is off to a good start in 2019 and gets CWS pitcher RHP Lucas Giolito today who has a .356 wOBA and a 5.81 xFIP dating back to last season. Over Narvaez’s last 30 he is slashing an average wOBA, 132 WRC+, 207 ISO and according to the brand new A.C.E. Projection System gets a 3% HH boost today. Narvaez price tag also helps you fit some Phillies today and he should hit in the top 6.
Others: Rhys Hoskins, Adam Frazier, Josh Bell, Jeimer Candelario
Jorge Soler, KC (OF, $3800)
Soler has something cooking in KC, still wish the Cubs would of kept him but it wasn’t up to me. Today he is hitting cleanup against LHP Matt Moore and the Detroit Tigers and dating back to last season Moore has a 4.8 xFIP with a 44% HH Rate against RHB. Soler is hitting an elite 428 wOBA, 175 WRC+ with a 51% HH Rate against LHP going back to last season. Under $4K on the slate where we need to pay up for Harper, I’m all for it.
Others: Bryce Harper, Jay Bruce, Nicholas Castellanos
Max Muncy, LAD (1B/3B, $5100)
To no surprise Coors has the highest O/U on the main slate of 10 with the Dodgers having an IRT of 5.3 runs. Muncy and the Dodgers will face RHP Jon Gray who dating back to last season has given up a .355 wOBA with a 40% HH Rate against LHB. Nothing to special but Muncy enters the game with a .408 wOBA, excellent 162 WRC+ and a 47% HH Rate. Those numbers at Coors sound dangerous to me and Muncy is my #DFSHRCall today.
Others: Nolan Arenado, Corey Seager, Rafael Devers, Jesus Aguilar
Lorenzo Cain, MIL (OF, $4100)
Cain was featured here yesterday and came through with 17 FPts on DK. No different today, the Cubs pitching is a mess and they seem to not want to do anything to fix it. Tonight Milwaukee gets LHP Cole Hamels and his 4.07 xFIP and 44% HH Rate against RHB. Cain will lead off again and look to terrorize the Cubs pitching staff. Have I mentioned I am a Cubs fan, so this is terrorizing me. $4.1 just seems way to cheap for his elite numbers against LHP lately and leading off, get him in your lines.
Others: Adam Jones, Joc Pederson, Charlie Blackmon, AJ Pollock, Mookie Betts, Ryan Braun
