Malcolm Mitchell Tops Week 14 WR Waiver Wire

With Rob Gronkowski Out For The Season Malcolm Mitchell Has Become Fantasy Relevant

An outside receiver for the New England Patriots is actually becoming start worthy in fantasy. Granted this is a small sample size, but Brady has put more trust in Malcolm Mitchell every week. Seeing that Brady’s favorite target Gronk is out  for the season, Mitchell is getting more targets and red zone looks. In addition to being reliable for Brady, Mitchell has 4.4 speed and has a knack for explosive plays. As always, all of the players mentioned in the waiver column are available in over 50% of yahoo leagues. For more information and interaction, visit the forums page and our twitter.

Top Add:

Malcolm Mitchell

Malcolm Mitchell (29%) New England Patriots

Through the past three weeks Mitchell has seen his targets increase from 5, 7, and this past week 10. Furthermore in that timespan his catch rate has been an excellent 86%. Coupled with his 8 catches for 82 yards in week 13, the threat of a big play is always possible. In addition to his speed, Mitchell has been scoring touchdowns. Through week 11 and 12 he had 3 touchdowns. As can be seen from his weekly increase of usage, Mitchell is well worth an add if you need a 3rd receiver with huge upside.

Suggested Add:

Adam Thielen (16%) Minnesotta Vikings

By almost any measure the Vikings offense is a disaster. In the meantime Sam Bradford has been forced to throw a lot of short throws to mask a terrible offensive line benefiting Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. Thielen is safe play most weeks. By and large he is not a great fantasy option, but through the last two weeks he has 11 and 9 targets. Another key point is Diggs’ injury history. Thielen has the potential for huge upside if Diggs misses time.

Deep Add:

Joshua Bellamy (0%) Chicago Bears

After last weeks deep league add Marquess Wilson went down, Bellamy led the Bears in yards and targets. On the negative side, the Bears have nothing to play for. On the positive side, players like Bellamy can showcase themselves for next season. Bellamy has actually had 15 targets in the last two games but this is still an extremely deep add for fantasy owners in 14-16 team leagues.
