Lamb a must | Draftkings Daily NBA plays 1/10/17

Jeremy Lamb walking down the court for the Charlotte Hornets

Last night was as ugly as anticipated. It was made even uglier by Rose being a no-show, Lavine leaving due to injury, Butler being sick, and 2 out of 3 games being blowouts.  Despite ALL those factors, I still cashed easily with my main lineup.  Snowflakes everywhere but having Dirk, KAT, Wade and Jennings was enough.  Turning our attention to tonight, we have 9 games on tap for Draftkings daily NBA 1/10/17.  My top overall cash play remains Jeremy Lamb assuming Nicolas Batum is out as anticipated.  If Lamb draws another start he is a phenomenal value at just $5100.

Lamb headlines Draftkings daily NBA Tuesday January 10th

Shooting Guard

Jeremy Lamb – Charlotte Hornets ($5100)

Draftkings is typically really good at raising prices on fill in starters, but Lamb ‘s price tag didn’t jump quite as high as expected.  In his first start filling in for the injured Nic Batum, Lamb played 29 minutes and posted 29 fantasy points on just 4 of 12 shooting against the Spurs! Tonight’s matchup is considerably easier against the uptempo Houston Rockets, and Lamb is one of my favorite players to roster as he provides solid rebounding for a shooting guard.  So far this season Lamb has averaged over a fantasy point per minute on the road with 20 FPPG in just 18.5 minutes.  With his minutes boost we can reasonably expect Lamb to post 30+ fantasy points especially given the incredible matchup with the Rockets who allow the 2nd most FPPG to opposing SGs.  Lock Lamb in to your cash game lineups on Draftkings tonight, then move on to the rest of the roster.

Other Options: Marcus Smart, James Harden, Jordan Clarkson, Tim Hardaway Jr

Point Guard

Kyrie Irving – Cleveland Cavaliers ($7700)

There are usually 5 or 6 point guards I want on a nightly basis, but Draftkings has really tightened up their pricing here.  Hopefully some late news develops that convinces me to play a better option, but for now I think Irving has the best price for cash.  Over his last 3 games Irving has dropped 62, 47 and 40 fantasy points.  Tonight’s matchup with the Jazz is considerably tougher as Utah gives up the 3rd fewest FPPG to the position, but this also means that we should get more minutes out of Kyrie as the Jazz look to keep the game close on their home floor.  As I said, I’m not sold on this pick, and will be looking for some news to change my mind, but for now Irving will be in my placeholder lineup.

Other Options: Steph Curry, Tyler Johnson, Kyle Lowry, Darren Collison, Goran Dragic

Small Forward

Kawhi Leonard – San Antonio Spurs ($7900)

I’m not usually a Kawhi supporter, but his price has now dropped into the cash play range.  Kawhi contributes so many different stats that as long as he plays a full game he should easily drop 40 fpts.  On the season Kawhi is averaging 39 FPPG at home which is almost exactly 5x value for 7900.  Some may be scared off by the fact that Kawhi only posted 35.8 FPPG last time out against the Bucks, but that was on 9-22 shooting and with 0 steals / 0 assists.  If his shooting % comes up, or he adds in a few assists / steals he is right back at the 40 point mark.  It will be tough to fade Kawhi in cash tonight, and I don’t think we can.

Other Options: Anthony Tolliver, Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Evan Turner, Stanley Johnson, Trevor Ariza, Jae Crowder, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Power Forward

Al-Farouq Aminu – Portland Trail Blazers ($5100)

Draftkings is really baiting us into this play.  Aminu has now recorded 3 straight 30 fantasy point games, including 33.25 against the Lakers just 5 days ago.  The Trail Blazers have to continue to give Aminu 35+ minutes per game at the power forward position as he really shores up the defense at power forward.  Aminu is an absolute must play at his price tag and given his recent production.  He should be priced at $6000, so take advantage while you still can.

Other Options: Derrick Favors, Demarcus Cousins, Draymond Green, Julius Randle, Kevin Love, James Johnson, Lamarcus Aldridge

Marcin Gortat – Washington Wizards ($5900)

Another must play! This makes 3 guys I absolutely HAVE to have in my lineups tonight.  Gortat consistently plays 37 minutes per night for the Wizards and in 2 matchups with the Bulls this season he has averaged 36.9 FPPG! Assuming he dominates Robin Lopez  once again Gortat should be good for 6x value or better.  Over his last 6 games Gortat has hit 36 fantasy points or better in 5 of them! Why his price tag dropped $500 I’ll never know, but lets lock him in once again based on what appears to be a pricing error.

Other Options: Dwight Howard, Al Horford, Zaza Pachulia, Mason Plumlee

That wraps up today’s Draftkings daily NBA picks for Tuesday January 10th 2017.  If you have any questions about Jeremy Lamb or any other player listed, feel free to find me in chat leading up to tip off.  Thanks for reading and good luck with your cash game lineups today!
