I’ll be scratching my head for a while about yesterday’s performance. Derrick Favors had 18 fantasy points at halftime, and managed to finish with just 21? Andre Drummond was in foul trouble all night, which led to the return of the Boban. Well tonight we need to shake off those outliers and get ready for King James. Both Kyrie (doubtful) and Kevin Love (questionable) could miss the game, but as long as one of them is out, we are locking in Lebron. The Brooklyn Nets are still awful defensively, and unless there is a massive blowout with James sitting the 4th we should see a 60+ pt performance.

King James on top | Draftkings Daily NBA Cash 1/6/17
King James – Cleveland Cavaliers ($10500)
Earlier this season, in a blowout, King James played 27.2 minutes against the Brooklyn Nets. In those limited minutes he was able to drop 39.8 fantasy points! That works out to 1.46 FPPM. If he plays 36 minutes tonight that works out to 52.67 fantasy points. Which is good enough, until you consider the increased usage from Kyrie and possibly Love being out. This game will be played in Brooklyn which helps lessen the risk of blowout, and the Nets allow the most FPPG to small forwards this season. Lebron should have his way with Brooklyn tonight, and we can expect ownership to eclipse 40% in cash this evening.
Update: Kyrie and Love are both considered probable. If they do play, Lebron is still decent, but no longer the cash lock. Check in to chat later for those live updates.
Other Options: Jabari Parker, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Trevor Ariza
Mike Conley – Memphis Grizzlies ($6600)
I know, Mike Conley and KJ don’t mix. If you’ve been an FTA reader for any amount of time you know of my disdain for Conley. However, tonight’s matchup and price tag are choice and if the Grizzlies want to keep this game competitive we can expect big games from both Conley and Marc Gasol. Last game in a close matchup with the Lakers Mike Conley played 36 minutes and recorded 44 fantasy points. A major plus in my eyes is the fact that Conley hit just 5-16 shots. If he had hit 50% or better we would’ve seen a 50+ fantasy point game at a sub 7k price tag! When you have to pay 5700 for Brogdon, or 5500 for McConnell, I figure you spend the extra 1000 for the upside of Conley.
Other Options: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Malcolm Brogdon, TJ McConnell, D’Angelo Russell, Steph Curry, John Wall
Raymond Felton – Los Angeles Clippers ($4700)
I love Raymond Felton. Apparently I’m alone in that regard, but Butterball has been good to me during my DFS career. Over the last 2 games the Clippers have started Felton, Rivers and Redick, which has led Ray to 37 minutes in b2b contests. Felton has recorded 32+ pts in both games, and will be taking on the Sacramento Kings this evening. No matter who starts at SG the Kings struggle to guard the position, as Ben McLemore, Garrett Temple and Arron Afflalo are not known as strong defenders. Felton will almost certainly be locked into my lineups tonight.
Other Options: Klay Thompson, Avery Bradley, Arron Afflalo, Sean Kilpatrick, Bradley Beal, James Harden
James Johnson – Miami Heat ($5700)
I wanted to make this play earlier in the week, but Johnson came down sick and scratched that plan. I’m going back to James Johnson tonight against the Lakers, as the Heat are relying on his production heavily now with Justise Winslow out for the season. Over his last 3 games JJ has recorded at least 36 fantasy points. The Lakers allow the 2nd most FPPG to power forwards. In his only matchup with the Lakers earlier this season, James Johnson dropped 40 fantasy points in 25.6 minutes. He should be a popular cash play, and for good reason given the matchup. Lock in James to those Draftkings cash game lineups.
Other Options: Jabari Parker, Draymond Green, Julius Randle, Demarcus Cousins, Montrezl Harrell
Tristan Thompson – Cleveland Cavaliers ($4500)
In the aforementioned blowout against the Nets, Tristan Thompson played 25.5 minutes and hit 35.8 fantasy points. $4500 is kind of a joke for that sort of production, and while Tristan has been on a bit of a cold streak there is nothing like the Nets “defense” to cure what ails him. The Nets allow the most FPPG to the center position, and Tristan may be even more of a lock for me than King James. Lock him in at this far too cheap price tag.
Other Options: Greg Monroe, Willie Reed, Deandre Jordan, Nikola Vucevic, Marc Gasol, Joakim Noah
