I sure hope everyone took my cash plays yesterday seriously, as guys like Carmelo Anthony and Greg Monroe went nuts. We have an 8 game schedule ahead of us tonight, and Derrick Favors once again headlines thanks to his far too cheap pricetag. I’ll cover my favorite cash game plays for Draftkings Daily NBA January 5th, 2017

Draftkings Daily NBA January 5th, 2017
Power Forward – Daily NBA January 5th
Derrick Favors – Utah Jazz ($4900)
What in the wide world of sports is going on over at Draftkings? Derrick Favors is finally back to playing 30 minutes per game, and yet his price tag hasn’t increased? Favors is typically a $7000 player, but we find him tonight priced at just $4900 which is FAR too cheap for a player of his caliber. Last game against the Celtics, Favors played 29 minutes pouring in 12 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds good for 29.5 fantasy points. Tonight he gets the Toronto Raptors and rookie Pascal Siakam who allow the 8th most FPPG to opposing power forwards. Favors should once again be a fixture in cash game lineups on Draftkings this evening.
Other Options: Al-Farouq Aminu, Anthony Davis, Jon Leuer, Lamarcus Aldridge, Julius Randle, Trevor Booker
Jeff Teague – Indiana Pacers ($7400)
As always, the team to target tonight is facing the Brooklyn Nets. This means we should find a number of Pacers highly owned in cash, and Jeff Teague is no exception as he has eclipsed 31 fantasy points in 9 of his last 10 games, and 40 fantasy points in 7 of his last 10. Teague has played twice against Brooklyn this season, and is averaging just 28.1 FPPG, however that was in 26 minutes per game. If he plays anywhere near his 35 MPG that we expect, you should be able to bank on at least 40 fantasy points or more making Teague one of the top cash options available at his position.
Other Options: Patrick Beverley, Jrue Holiday, Russell Westbrook, Tony Parker
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope – Detroit Pistons ($5800)
I should take a moment to mention if you’re paying up at SG, James Harden should be your target in the marquee matchup with Russell Westbrook. However, you aren’t here to read about the high priced studs, so lets cover KCP. Kentavious has played at least 39 minutes in 3 straight contests, while dropping 25, 43 and 29.75 fantasy points. So basically he has hit value in 2 of his 3 games while seeing heavy minutes. Tonight KCP will face the Hornets who he has faced twice already this season. In 2 matchups, averaging 34.3 MPG, KCP is averaging 33.1 FPPG while shooting just 39% from the field. If he shoots anywhere near 50% tonight we should see the upside for 35+ fantasy points, making Kentavious my favorite cash play at the position.
Other Options: Victor Oladipo, James Harden, CJ McCollum, Allen Crabbe, Eric Gordon, Gary Harris, Evan Turner, Bojan Bogdanovic
Kawhi Leonard – San Antonio Spurs ($8500)
We know everytime you play a Spur you are at risk of being popped, but Kawhi Leonard is typically the safest option. With this game being played in Denver that should help lessen the blowout risk a bit, and Kawhi averages 33 minutes / 42.8 FPPG on the road this season. The cash play conundrum tonight will likely be Kawhi or PG13 if you’re paying up, and I think the smart money is on Kawhi as he produces stats across the board including steals and blocks.
Other Options: Brandon Ingram (if Deng is out), Maurice Harkless, Paul George, Evan Turner, Wilson Chandler, Trevor Ariza
Anthony Davis – New Orleans Pelicans ($10000)
AD is only $10000?!? I know most attention will be turned to Westbrook vs Harden, but they are both priced $2000 higher, and AD has just as much upside as them! Anthony Davis is averaging 38 minutes per game at home this season and a whopping 61 FPPG. While the injury risk is always very real, I can’t pass up AD at this price tag, as he dropped 25 fantasy points in just 18 minutes last meeting with Atlanta. If he plays 36 minutes that would work out to 50 fantasy points, and he has the upside to drop 60+ if he really gets going.
Other Options: Myles Turner, Andre Drummond, Brook Lopez, Pau Gasol, Mason Plumlee, Jonas Valanciunas, Nikola Jokic
