Brad Keselowski ended up taking home the checkers flag in Las Vegas. He ran down Kyle Busch near the end, and ended up getting teammate, Joey Logano to finish 2nd. But here in Phoenix, Harvick will look to dominate like he normally does. This 1 mile oval has seen Harvick finish 1st 4 out of the past 5 races here. Kyle Busch wins pole, the second straight week with a Busch brother starting 1st. We got a great Sunday ahead, so lets get into the DraftKings picks.
Tier 1 Targets
Kevin Harvick: $10,800 – Starting 18th
Love this spot for Harvick, winning 4 of 5 at Phoenix, and Top 2 in 7 of 8 races. He also has 150+ Fantasy points in 3 of 4 races at Phoenix. Solid for cash and GPP, and heads in as a heavy favorite to take the checkered flag home.
Brad Keselowski: $9,700 – Starting 19th
Starting 19th, Brad is in a prime opportunity to get solid points for positive position changes. No worse than 11th in 8 Phoenix races. He is in great form with a win last week. Look for Brad to continue his recent success.
Carl Edwards: $9,400 – Starting 2nd
With already two 5th this year, Carl rolls into Phoenix on fire. He has the 3rd best average finish here at 11.1. A past winner here in Spring of 2013. Look for Carl to have a good chance of leading laps, and a good finish at Phoenix.
Also Consider: Jimmie Johnson, Joey Logano.
Tier 2 Targets:
Kasey Kahne: $8,400 – Starting 24th
A good spot for a good driver. Starting 24th, look for Kasey to make a run at a second straight top 10 this season. The runner up last year has also enjoyed 8 top 10s at Phoenix. A good place to save some salary after Harvick.
Jamie McMurray $7,800 – Starting 11th
Started out with 3 mediocre finishes the season, but look for that to change. In 16 races on the flat tracks Phoenix, New Hampshire, Martinsville, and Richmond, Jamie has only finished out side the top 16 two times. If Jamie can finish well, and not drift back to the pack, he can easily hit value.
Ryan Newman $7,500 – Starting 20th
With a couple of solid finishes this season, paired with god track history, Newman will find his way into a lot of my teams this week. He has an average finish of 11th in Phoenix in his last 5 races here. Also only 2 times he has finished outside the top 25, in his last 25 races. Strong cash option here.
Also Consider: Chase Elliott, Clint Bowyer
Tier 3 Targets:
Ryan Blaney $6,500 – Starting 12th
A great price for someone not qualifying outside the top 25. If he can avoid a crash, and perform like last week, Blaney with surpass value, and could help someone take down a GPP.
Ty Dillon $5,400 – Starting 28th
The ultimate punt play from the cheapest player in the field. Not much to say about Ty, but he does have solid track history in the Xfinity series. GPP only, high risk high reward.
Don’t be afraid to punt a driver in a lineup or two. Harvick will be crazy owned, so if you want a good pivot option, look for Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch. Jimmie has solid track history, but has also been be hid Kevin at Phoenix. Kyle Busch will get some laps led, and has been the best driver this season.
