NASCAR heads to the lone start state for the Texas Motor Speedway. Last week’s winner, Kyle Busch, is looking like another strong play this week. We will get to see 334 laps on this oval shaped track, in Fort Worth, Texas. Remember this race starts at 4:30 PM PDT. Let’s get into the picks.
Tier 1 Targets:
Jimmie Johnson – $10,400 – Starting 11th
Jimmie has one 4 of the last 5 checkered flags in Texas, while winning 6 in his career. He is also one of the best drivers in NASCAR history. Jimmie is my top option this week.
Kyle Busch – $10,100 – Starting 15th
Busch has been one of the most consistent driver in the field. He races hard, and will go for broke if he is sitting outside of the lead. He also has an average finish of 3.67 in the past 4 races here.
Also consider: Joey Logano.
Tier 2 Targets:
Matt Kenseth – $9,700 – Starting 9th
Matt hasn’t really got it going this year, and every time I’m on him, he doesn’t perform. He has 2 wins and 17 top 10s in 26 appearances at Texas. He seems safe this week, so he will be in my cash game lineups.
Brad Keselowski – $9,600 – Starting 8th
Brad has a legit shot at winning this week. He is second in the field in laps led (behind Jimmie Johnson), and he has 3 top 5s in his last 3 starts here.
Also Consider: Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Carl Edwards.
Tier 3 Targets:
Kurt Busch – $8,400 – Starting 21st
Kurt is super consistent at 1.5 mile tracks, finishing in the top 10 at the last 10 1.5 mile tracks. Cash or GPPs is fine with me.
Jamie McMurray – $7,400 – Starting 18th
He has 3 straight top 10s at Texas. Jamie should hit value, especially if he can continue his top 5 streak. I love Jamie for cash and GPPs with his potential places gained.
Also Consider: Chase Elliott, Austin Dillon, and Ryan Newman.
Aric Almirola – $6,600 – Starting 24th
Brain Vickers – $6,400 – Starting 13th
AJ Allmendinger – $6,200 – Starting 23rd.
My pick to win this week will be none other than Jimmie Johnson. With best track history, and the best driver in the filed, I belive Jimmie takes him the checkered flag. If you have any questions, feel free to Tweet me @FTA_BrettDadian. Enjoy the race.NASCAR, Random FTA articles
