DFS NBA 3/17/17 | FanDuel Picks

Last night was smoking on FanDuel!  Let’s hope the luck of the Irish is with us on this Friday as we attempt to tackle tonight’s slate.  Isaiah Thomas is out for the Celtics and they’re playing the Nets, so we’re looking at major value as the remaining players attempt to fill his 33% usage rate in the best possible matchup.  I will be on chat tonight, but be aware I won’t be around much this weekend as we’re moving into a new house (again). So follow me on twitter @jac3600 and we’re going #CelticPride for St. Patty’s Day.

John Wall, WAS ($10,400)

I expected Wall to rest after spraining his foot last game, but he’s probably for tonight’s tilt with the Bulls and is therefore viable in all formats (although PG looks like a good spot to attack value this evening).  The Bulls rank 29th against opposing PGs over the last ten games and Wall is posting an elite 31% usage rate and 49% assist rate.  He’s a great GPP play for me and is cash viable.

Other options – None

Mid-tier options – Ricky Rubio, Jrue Holiday

Tyler Ulis, PHX ($5400)

Ulis is a lock for me on all sites tonight, and especially FanDuel where he’s only $5400.  Eric Bledsoe has been shut down for the season and Ulis will be the full beneficiary here.  He played 39 minutes last game and gets a matchup against the Orlando Magic who rank 24th in defensive efficiency against PGs.  The floor should be stable, and the upside is significant.

Other options – Jeremy Lin, Rajon Rondo, Jordan Clarkson, Terry Rozier, Matthew Dellavedova

Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL ($10,500)

It may be my undoing to rank Giannis ahead of Harden with the latter in a fast, close matchup with a 229 O/U, but Giannis’ rates are booming and gets to face a Lakers squad that ranks dead last in almost every category that Giannis excels in.  Throw in the fact that he’s $1500 cheaper than Harden and I think he makes more sense from a per dollar perspective.

Other options – James Harden, Bradley Beal (better if Wall happens to sit)

Mid-tier options – Devin Booker

Avery Bradley/Marcus Smart, BOS ($6400/$6300)

Smart’s price is pretty aggressive on FD (better on DK), but one of these two guards HAS to be used in cash with Isaiah Thomas out (and I’d actually recommend using both if you’re not paying up for Giannis or Harden.  Brooklyn ranks first in pace, 28th in overall team defense, and 28th against guards while also allowing the most steals per game (something both Boston players excel in).  Losing Thomas actually gives the Nets a halfway decent chance of keeping this game closer as well.

Other options – Evan Fournier, Seth Curry, Wesley Matthews, Denzel Valentine
