Week 7 Quarterback (QB) Ranks and Analysis – Fantasy Football 2013

Another week in the books, another frustrating week for fantasy QB owners.  Brady led the Patriots to victory, but put up just 14 fantasy points in standard scoring leagues, while guys like Mike Glennon of the Bucs and Thad Lewis of the Bills both went for over 20.  This has certainly been a crazy season for quarterbacks, and as you will see from the week 7 rankings, there has been quite a shakeup at the top since week 1.

Feel free to post all comments and questions below, I respond to all of our readers.  If you want multiple opinions on who you should start in week 7, join us in the forums as we feature one of the fastest growing fantasy sports communities online today.

Week 7 Quarterback (QB) Ranks and Analysis

    RankPlayerTeamAnalysisAVG PPGWeek 7
1Peyton ManningDENManning is mortal?  Who knew!  13 fantasy points in week 6 against one of the league’s worst defenses was a head scratcher, but you can be sure he will get up for this game against his former team28.16@IND
2Andrew LuckINDLuck was a victim of the Charger’s playing the ball control game in week 6.  Week 7? the Broncos don’t know how to play that game, they simply push the pedal to the floor and go a mile a minute.  Luck and the Colts will have to throw to keep up17.21DEN
3Jay CutlerCHICutler has been one of the top fantasy QB’s this season thanks to the Bears’ new offense. Washington secondary should keep the points coming in18.07@WSH
    4Cam NewtonCAR 19.28STL
5Tony RomoDALThe real culprit in Romo’s poor fantasy output in week 6 was Dwayne Harris and the DST.  The Cowboys were able to manage the clock, and Romo was removed from the equation.  Week 7 is another solid matchup for Romo, he remains a QB120.02@PHI
6Philip RiversSDGood matchup, might see a heavy dose of run game again19.80@JAC
7Aaron RodgersGBCould be a tough week if both Cobb and Jones are out…, but this is still Aaron Rodgers20.83CLE

9Matt RyanATLWill the loss of Julio significantly alter the Falcons offense?  Only time will tell19.83TB
10Robert Griffin IIIWASGood to see the read option back in play against the Cowboys.  RG3 is a borderline QB1 play in week 716.56CHI

    12Andy DaltonCIN 14.18@DET
13Nick FolesPHI30 fantasy points in week 6.  Juicy matchup with Dallas in week 7.  Foles is rapidly moving up the QB ranks in Chip Kelly’s fast paced offense17.33DAL

16Sam BradfordSTLCarolina is one of the top defenses against opposing QB’s this season, matchup isn’t as juicy as owners might believe17.71@CAR

    18Alex SmithKC 15.70HOU
19Colin KaepernickSFStill waiting for Kaep to perform on the road until he can rejoin the QB1 discussion.  In his 2 road games (@SEA, @STL) Kaepernick threw for 127 and 167 yards respesctively.. Oh, and the titans are a top 10 defense against fantasy QB’s this season13.34@TEN
    20Joe FlaccoBAL 13.43@PIT
21Mike GlennonTBJust keep feeding Vincent Jackson, it’s one of the few recipes for fantasy success for Glennon and his few owners12.27@ATL
    22Brandon WeedenCLE 14.95@GB
23Josh FreemanMINCassel out, Freeman in.  Nice matchup against the Giants, but Freeman is new to the offense, and Adrian Peterson should be able to handle a heavy workload8.28@NYG
24Thaddeus LewisBUFJeff Tuel or Matt Flynn may end up making the start as Lewis has been diagnosed with a mid-foot sprain22.34@MIA
