News and Notes
Aaron Hernandez – Obviously the biggest news for the week 3 tight end rankings is that Aaron Hernandez has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain, and could end up missing six week, putting his return right around week 8. This is a huge blow for fantasy owners, as it looked like Hernandez would be a big contributor this season for the Patriots. Looking to replace Hernandez in your lineup? Try Dennis Pitta who has been a pleasant surprise for the slightly uptempo Ravens.
Brandon Myers – Myers cracks our top 25 for the first time, as he has been a decent option for the Raiders. Not a guy you want to target in fantasy leagues, but a TE worth keeping your eye on to see what develops in 2012.
Fred Davis – Heading into week 2, Davis was outside our top 12, and it only got worse as it seems RG3 has no interest in using his TE. In both weeks 1 and 2, the Redskins scored in bunches, but Davis was a forgotten piece of the offense. We will need to see Robert Griffin give him 7+ targets in back to back weeks before Davis is once again a recommended option in fantasy football this year.
Martellus Bennett – Looks like Eli will be using his TE more this season, and Bennett has cracked our top 10 heading into week 3. Bennett won’t be on waivers in all leagues, but if you need a solid tight end option, make sure you scour the wire for him first.

ST. LOUIS – NOVEMBER 21: Tony Gonzalez #88 of the Atlanta Falcons looks to get past Craig Dahl #43 of the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome on November 21, 2010 in St. Louis, Missouri. The Falcons beat the Rams 34-17. (Image credit: Getty Images via @daylife)
