Updated 2 start pitchers for week 6 – May 6th thru May 12th

After another eventful week of weather across the central U.S. I have once again updated the projected 2 start pitchers for the week ahead.  For the first time this week, I started including the stats alongside the pitcher’s name to help assist you in your decision about whether or not to pick him up, and I have to say, the reception has been lukewarm.  We get right around 1,000 readers a day on this site, nearly half of which view the two start pitchers for the week ahead, and out of all those thousands of people, only one person mentioned that he found the stats to be a valuable source of information.

Please let me know whether or not you like the stats included in the rankings, as it does add over an hour to my already busy schedule every week.

Be sure to scroll down the page, as I have included some VERY important information after the rankings.

    News and notes – 2 start pitchers – week 6 – fantasy baseball 2013

The most important note about the week ahead concerns Josh Beckett and the Los Angeles Dodgers.  Currently, both CBS and Yahoo have Beckett slated to start the Monday (May 6th) game against the Diamondbacks, but this is old information, as Chris Capuano is expected to be activated and ready to start on Monday, pushing Beckett back to Tuesday, and into a 1 start week.  MLB.com accurately has Capuano as the starter Monday, so if you were planning on a 2 start week out of Josh Beckett, it doesn’t look likely.

    Waiver wire streamer pickups

These are my favorite guys that have 2 starts you should consider adding in your league for week 6:

Ervin Santana – Kansas City Royals

Santana has started out red hot for the Royals, and while we know he tends to do a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde, he is worth a pickup while rolling like this.

Jerome Williams – Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Williams gets the Astros in his first start, one of the more strikeout prone teams in the league.  Even a guy like Williams that doesn’t strike out many batters should be able to get 4-6 swings and misses on Tuesday.

Andrew Cashner – San Diego Padres

Speaking of swings and misses, Cashner is one of the better strikeout men that is flying under the radar for now.  With a start against the Marlins on Monday, it is extremely likely his name will rise up the ownership charts after Monday’s meeting.
