Another reason that I would not risk starting RG3 this week is also a lack of confidence in the weapons around him. Overall, Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson have disappointed for Washington this season and have not been able to pick up Griffin’s play much at all. Running back Alfred Morris has also had a down year. On the season Morris has only had one 100 yard rushing game and has only rushed for 7 touchdowns. The Washington offense has struggled this season, and Robert Griffin III is not the only reason for the struggles.
With only two games left in the 2014 NFL regular season it appears that Robert Griffin III will be the starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins to finish the season. Griffin came into Sunday’s game against the Giants after Colt Mccoy suffered a neck injury. After coming in the game he threw for 236 yards and a touchdown. It also appeared that RG3 rushed for a score before the half, but it was reversed after review. With many fantasy championships happening this week and next is there any scenario where Robert Griffin should be given a shot?

In week 16 Washington has a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles defense has allowed the third most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season, but I still see little reason to feel confident in Robert Griffin III. In the seven games that he has played in this season he has not scored more than 15 fantasy points in a game. He has not looked comfortable in the Jay Gruden offense, and I highly doubt that Gruden has gained any more confidence in Griffin since benching him. In the fantasy playoffs it is too risky to start a quarterback who has shown so few positive signs all season.
