The summer steadily marches on and the excitement is building for fantasy football managers as they prepare for upcoming drafts. I recently completed a 15-round mock draft, and the rankings are starting to steady out. Some of the earlier mock drafts saw kickers going way too early, and some decent running backs going way to late. The ADP’s (Average Draft Position) of most players are much more realistic in this most recent mock.

I had the 2nd overall pick, which netted me one of the top RB’s in the game in LeSean McCoy, but it is a very long wait for the pick to come back around. Having to remember that guys like Frank Gore and Michael Turner are in for reduced workloads in 2012, I settled on Steven Jackson and Ahmad Bradshaw in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Since the top QB’s went off the board, I decided to load up on quality RB’s as they produce the most points in standard H2H formats.

Arian Foster has gone #1 overall in every mock draft that I have conducted so far in the summer of 2012. While I do think he will have a great season, I am a little worried that with the Texans defense losing a couple key players they could end up playing from behind this year, letting Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson play a more prominent role this season. The only QB to go off the board here was Aaron Rodgers, which is no surprise, but Larry Fitzgerald certainly turned a couple heads going #10 overall in front of DeMarco Murray and Marshawn Lynch. It is extremely unlikely that Fitzgerald will beat out Murray or Lynch in fantasy scoring this year. I always recommend taking a guy who is guaranteed to touch the ball 25-30 times a game over someone that may have 8-15 looks at the WR position.
