Matt Kemp injury and other fantasy news
- Updated: May 30, 2013
Here is some bits of news that affect fantasy baseball on May 30th 2013.
Matt Kemp injures right hamstring: Kemp hurt his right hamstring during the game against the Angels on Wednesday night. It is unknown yet how severe the injury is, but a stint on the DL is possible. This injury adds to the disappointing season that Matt Kemp has provided fantasy owners with this year. On the season Kemp is batting .251 with 2 home runs and 7 steals. Kemp has been one of the most frustrating players to own in fantasy this year, and this injury only adds to that frustration.
Tim Lincecum has rough outing: Lincecum pitched 4 and a third innings allowing 6 runs of which 5 were earned. In his next start Lincecum will face the Blue Jays. To this point in the season Lincecum has not had much better of a season than last, and he is now droppable in standard ten team leagues.
Jered Weaver returns from injury: In his first outing off the disabled list Weaver allowed one in six innings and struck out seven. Even with this good return outing I don’t believe that Weaver is a pitcher to target in trades. On the night Weavers fastball did not average much more than 87 MPH, and if those numbers are to continue he will be hit much more than he was on Wednesday night.
Chris Davis homers again: Davis also appeared in yesterdays new article, and last night he went 4-4 with two home runs. Davis is currently on an eight game hitting streak, and is playing out of his mind. During the streak he is batting 18-30 with 6 home runs. I would highly recommend trading for him if his current owner wants to sell high.
Jackie Bradley Jr. expected to come off the bench for the Red Sox: This is a disspointing bit of news for fantasy owners, because if Bradley was playing everyday for the Red Sox he could be very useful. It is now likely that Bradley will be sent down next week to the minors after Shane Victorino returns. Bradley is still someone that owners in keeper and deeper leagues should keep their eye on.
That is the news for today. In the comments post how many home runs you think that Matt Kemp will finish with, and if you have any questions regarding your fantasy team post them in the comments as well and I will do my best to answer them.
