Reggie Wayne

Week 8- I don’t know what it is, but something in my gut tells me a bad game is coming for Wayne this week. My brain calls him a clear WR1 against the Titans Defense that is very vulnerable on short passes, and really should remain in your fantasy lineups. Your gut matters a lot more than mine does.

Week 5- The Colts should be behind all game, and that means that they should be throwing a ton. That means Reggie Wayne could see even more targets than usual, which is a ton. He’s a low-end WR1 this week, and a very safe one at that.

Week 3- Reggie Wayne has clearly been Andrew Luck’s favorite WR through two weeks, and he needs to remain in your lineup in week 3. If he continues to get this amount of targets, he will prove to be extremely consistent all year long. Keep him as your WR2 and he likely won’t dissapoint you.

Week 1 – Wayne will enter the first week of the season as a WR3 with upside, as he should be Andrew Luck’s favorite target this season.  The window is rapidly closing on the 33rd year old WR, so this could be one of his final big years as he looks to prove himself and solidify one more contract.

Preseason Analysis

Wayne somehow managed a respectable season despite all the turmoil the Colts underwent last season without Peyton Manning. That makes Wayne’s status for this year pretty unclear; while he’ll be 33 and breaking in a rookie QB, Andrew Luck is far more talented than anyone else who threw to him last season. Wayne could post anywhere from rock-solid WR2 numbers all the way down to WR3/4 value. I’d be looking elsewhere for WR options in 2012.
