Week 8- I’m telling you, this guys going to explode this week. The Redskins Secondary is absolutely terrible, and Wallace can explode on any given play. I expect a ton of explosions going off in this one.
Week 5- The Eagles have a studly secondary, and expect Wallace and the rest of the Steelers’ Passing Game to get shut down this week. He’s just a high-end WR2 this week.
Week 3- Mike Wallace should probably be higher than where we have him ranked, but it’s just because of how deep WR is. He looks to have no trouble adjusting to Todd Haley’s system and should remain in your lineup as a WR2.
Week 1- Oh boy, this one is shaping up to be a mess for fantasy owners. You drafted the Mike Wallace from a season ago right? Well, he missed all of camp and the preseason, meaning he gets the great pleasure of learning the new plays on the fly. Wait a minute, you will say, this is the Denver Broncos he is facing, they can’t contain him! Especially that old man Champ Bailey! Well this is the same Champ Bailey that shut down Wallace in last year’s wild card matchup, as Mike totaled just 3 catches for 26 yards. All those factors are coming together to make one of the biggest busts for week 1
Preseason Analysis
The last 2 seasons Mike Wallace caught 60 passes and 72 passes for 1257 and 1193 yards respectively (2010 and 2011). In PPR formats Wallace has slightly less value as he isn’t targeted as often as some of the big #1 receivers in football, but if you don’t play PPR he should be a low #1 or high #2 pick. We recommend looking his way in the 4th or 5th rounds of fantasy drafts in 2012.
