Week 9 - Graham rescued fantasy owners by catching a garbage time TD against the Broncos in week 8. Jimmy finished the game with 64 yards receiving and a TD giving him 12.4 fantasy points in standard scoring. He remains an elite option heading into week 9 against the Eagles, and as long as he isn’t scratched from the Saints lineup, he should be in yours.
Week 6 - Jimmy caught just one pass for 4 yards in week 5 before spraining his ankle. Lucky for him and his fantasy owners, week 6 is a bye, we will update Graham’s status after week 6, but he is expected to be ok for week 7.
Week 5 - Graham remains one of Brees favorite targets as he caught 7 passes for 76 yards. You drafted Graham to be a must start, and that is what he remains.
Week 4 - Despite totaling just 16 yards in week 3 vs. the KC Chiefs, Jimmy still scored a TD, and is a must start in all leagues heading into week 4 with the Green Bay Packers.
Week 2 – This is a no-brainer. Jimmy Graham enters week 2 as our #1 overall TE, and he should be started in 100% of formats. If you need any incentive, he is playing the Carolina Panthers.
Week 1 – As if Jimmy Graham wasn’t good enough in 2011, he now gets a favorable matchup against one of the leagues worst defenses vs the TE a year ago. Last season, the Redskins gave up 1002 receiving yards in 16 games to tight ends, making them the 29th overall defense against TE’s in the NFL. Graham should be locked in as a must-start in all formats for week 1.
Preseason Analysis
Jimmy Graham showcased his athletic ability in 2011, racking up 99 catches, and showed why he is one of the rising young stars in the game. Even with a new head coach in New Orleans, Drew Brees should find Graham consistently once again in 2012. The choice for top tight end in this year’s fantasy draft will come down to either Gronkowski and Graham, and fantasy owners should be safe either way. Our projections for the upcoming season see Graham catching slightly fewer balls, but upping his yards per catch, and once again being an elite fantasy option.
