Week 9 - Fantasy owners had high hopes for Cook this season, but he continues to finish right around 40-50 yards on a weekly basis. Until he starts seeing the end zone more, he will remain a high upside TE2.
Week 6 - Cook had a nice game in week 5 as he caught 5 passes for 37 yards and a TD. Obviously, the TD was the big point gainer on the week, leaving Cook as a TE2 until he can increase his yardage per game.
Week 5 - As expected, coming off injury and against a tough Texans D, Cook was able to catch just 3 passes for 36 yards. He remains a TE2 for the foreseeable future.
Week 4 - Cook had a breakout game vs the Lions in week 3, although he did suffer an injury late to his shoulder, it appears he should be able to play Sunday vs the Texans. Houston has one of the leagues best defenses, and Cook is coming off injury, so Jared is a TE2 that should be stashed on fantasy benches until he draws a better matchup.
Week 2 – Cook had a decent season debut against the Patriots in week 1 as he racked up 64 yards, but his inability to find the end zone didn’t help fanatsy owners as he finished with 6.40 standard points. The good news for his owners? He played 60 snaps in week 1, and he draws the San Diego Chargers in week 2. View Cook as a low TE1 for this matchup as he will be on the field with plenty of opportunity to provide scoring for your fake squad.
Week 1 - Jared Cook has steadily risen up our rankings as he displayed athleticism and solid hands in his preseason games with the Titans. If you have a better option at TE, you probably will want to use it because the Patriots had the 6th best defense vs TE in 2011, making Cook a very low end TE1 for the first week of the 2012 NFL season.
Preseason Analysis
Jared Cook is listed as the #2 TE for the Titans, but that is because Chris Snyder tends to be the better blocker. In 2011, Cook caught just 49 passes as he played in all 16 games. He did manage to total 759 yards which was good for 15.5 yards per catch, but with the Titans not looking his way he will be a #2 TE at best in fantasy leagues come draft day 2012.
