Week 6- He’s Shonn Greene, you know why not to start him.
Week 5- See Week 4, it translates extremely well to Week 5.
Week 4- Lack of talent + Splitting carries + Toughest Run Defense in the NFL. Needless to say, keep Greene on your bench in week 4.
Week 3- Shonn Greene gets the very underrated Miami Defense in week 3. There aren’t many starting Running Backs who appear as untalented as Greene does, and expect OK fantasy numbers based on volume.
Week 1- Shonn Greene is not the elite talent we thought he would be, but he will still get plenty of carries in the Jet’s ground and pound offense. The Bills defense is much better than last year with additions of Mario Williams and Mark Anderson plus the return of Kyle Williams, but Greene dominated their defense last year. Greene will likely be his normal mediocre self in this one, and is a mid-range RB2 for week 1.
Shonn Greene eclipsed the 1,000 yards rushing mark for the first time in 2011, and many owners may think that he is heading in the wrong direction, but a serious wrench has been thrown into the Jets offense in the form of Tim Tebow. While it is mostly speculation, we expect the Jets to go with Tim Tebow near the goal line, taking away most of Greene’s scoring attempts. While he may still be a solid rusher, don’t draft him with the expectation that he will get many TD’s for your fantasy squad. At best he is a low #2 starting RB heading into draft day 2012.
