Week 8- The Lions Run Defense hasn’t been nearly as strong as expected. Suh has not looked the same since his rookie year and Lynch should have his typical strong game. Keep him in your lineups as a RB1.
Week 6- I’m a believer in the Patriots’ Run Defense, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they shut Lynch down in this one. He should stay in your fantasy lineups, but as more of a RB2 rather than a RB1.
Week 5- Lynch certainly hasn’t been a disappointment early in the season, and now he gets the horrible Panthers Rush Defense. Expect him to tear them apart and you need to keep him in your lineup as a rock solid RB1.
Week 4- Lynch gets the weak Rams’ Run Defense in week 4, and you should keep him in your fantasy lineups as your RB1. Lynch has been decent so far, but this has the potential to be a huge game.
Week 3- Green Bay has been horrible against the run early on in the season, and he should be in your starting lineup as a high-end RB2 in week 3. He has the potential to have a big game if the Seahawks can contend with Green Bay, but we’re not quite sold that they can yet. He has high upside in week 3, but a potential lack of carries keeps him from RB1 status.
Week 1- If Lynch was a sure thing to pick up where he left off, he would be a top option for week 1. Lynch will still have to prove that the second half of last year wasn’t the product of a contract year. That makes him a bit of a risky RB1 for week 1, but he still has to be considered one for the time being.
Marshawn Lynch is a guy whose draft value is rapidly falling. Lynch was arrested for DUI and is currently pleading not guilty while awaiting trial, there is a good chance that the league will take a dim view of Lynch if he is convicted as he has had some previous problems with the law. If the NFL decides to suspend Lynch for a few games in 2012, his value will fall down the board. At this time we have to assume he will play the full season which makes him our 10th overall RB, but keep an eye on the situation as he could easily fall out of the top 20 with a suspension.
