Mark Ingram

Week 5- Ingram isn’t very talented, is splitting carries, and has a bad match up this week. If he doesn’t get a touchdown, he won’t be fantasy relevant.

Week 4- I was never on the Ingram bandwagon, and with Thomas emerging as the guy who gets the majority of the Saints’ carries Ingram should stay out of your lineup. He may be good for a touchdown, but that’s his upside.

Week 1- I’m not quite sure why a lot of owners are going crazy for Ingram. For now I just see him as a goalline back and could be the Saints’ third best running back. I would stay away from him, and there would need to be a plethora of injuries for him to make a big impact on the fantasy world.

Fresh out of college in 2011, many fantasy owners drafted Ingram figuring he would make an immediate impact in the NFL for the New Orleans Saints. Those numbers never materialized, and with the same stable of running backs (4) for the Saints, we don’t see much reason to hope the numbers will improve in 2012. Although Ingram will probably be drafted on draft day, we recommend other options because you never know who will be rushing the ball and scoring the TD’s for the Saints out of the backfield.
