Week 6- The Cardinals are solid against the run, but I expect Spiller to show his old self in this one. It wouldn’t be surprising to me if he went crazy in this one. He can be your RB2 based on pure upside.
Week 5- Don’t expect CJ Spiller to have a big game in this one, the 49ers are just too good. He’s just a risky Flex play for this week.
Week 3- CJ Spiller has absolutely torn opposing defenses apart in the past two weeks. He comes in as our #1 Running Back in week 3, and he’s looking like the steal of the year early on. There’s absolutely nobody you want to start over him at this point, and expect him to have another big game against an overrated Cleveland Defense.
Week 1- I’m one of the people saying that CJ Spiller is not going to be a big impact on the amount of carries Fred Jackson will receive. I do like his long-term potential as I expect Jackson to get hurt at some point, but I’m not expecting him to be fantasy relevant until then. Try to avoid playing him in week 1.
C.J. Spiller filled in admirably for Fred Jackson in 2011, when the latter went down to injury, and fantasy owners may be thinking about taking a chance on Spiller early on in drafts for 2012. With Fred Jackson back in the fold, we expect the Bills to use the same approach as last season, with Jackson getting the majority of the early down work, and Spiller being the change of pace back / catching balls out of the backfield. He has more value in PPR formats, but in standard leagues we recommend waiting til round 8 or later to pick up the Bills backup RB.
