Week 6 - The Dolphins found themselves playing with a lead for once in week 5, which meant Tannehill didn’t have to take as many chances down field resulting in 223 passing yards, 0 TD, and 0 INT. He remains a low QB2 heading into week 6.
Week 5 - Take notice NFL quarterbacks, if you want to jump into our top 25 rankings, throw for 431 yards against a defense that shut down Tom Brady already this season. Admittedly, Tannehill only threw 1 TD and 2 picks, but he suddenly becomes a guy to watch on waivers. He isn’t even a QB2 yet, but another performance like this will put him solidly on the fantasy radar.
Week 1 – Ryan Tannehill will be one of a number of rookie QB’s to start for his team in 2012. He still has a lot to learn at the position as his team takes on the Houston Texans, who had the 3rd best passing defense a season ago. While the Texans did lose a few key pieces on defense, this is still a bad matchup for Tannehill and he should be benched in the majority of formats for week 1.
The Dolphins moved up at the draft to take Ryan Tannehill, leading many football fans to speculate that he could emerge as the starter at some point during the 2012 season. The preseason has only served to reinforce those beliefs, as all the talk coming out of camp is how impressive Tannehill has been. After 2 preseason games, Tannehill was named the starting QB for the Dolphins in 2012. He has become an option in deep 2 QB formats, but with an unimpressive WR corps, don’t expect him to put up huge numbers.
