Matt Ryan

Week 10 - Ryan had a solid week throwing the football against the Cowboys in week 9 as he went 24-34 for 342 yards.  He didn’t post a TD much to the chagrin of fantasy owners, but he also didn’t post an INT as he took care of the football.  Now getting ready to face an atrocious New Orleans defense, Ryan should be considered a must start in all formats

Week 9 - Matt Ryan continues to be one of the elite QB’s of fantasy football 2012 after a week 8 which saw him throw for 262 yards and 3 TD’s.  Keep Ryan active as the new no-huddle Falcons continue to light up the NFL.

Week 6 - 345 yards, 2 TD’s and 1 INT in Week 5 against the Redskins were enough to propel Ryan to the top spot in our rankings for week 6.  Keep Matty Ice active through thick and thin while he is playing this well.

Week 5 - Fantasy owners that took our advice on Matt Ryan entering the season are benefitting after another huge week 4 that saw Matty Ice throw for 369 yards on 25 for 40 passing, 3 TD’s and 1 pick.  Keep Ryan active through thick and thin in 2012 as a top 5 QB.

Week 4 - Matt Ryan remains the second highest scoring QB this season, just behind Robert Griffin III.  He is a must start for his week 4 matchup with Carolina, which is obviously a very favorable matchup.

Week 3 – You read that right, the second highest scoring QB in fantasy football 2012 so far is Matt Ryan.  He heads into a shootout with San Diego for week 3, and should be considered a must start for this matchup.

Week 2 – Things couldn’t have gone much better for Matty Ice and the Falcons in week 1, as he shreaded the KC defense for 3 passing TD’s and 1 rushing.  In standard scoring formats, Ryan was the top fantasy producer with 32.46 points, and we should see another big game in week 2 against the Denver Broncos.  The Falcons will be hungry to showcase their vertical passing attack against a team that has Peyton Manning at the helm, and Ryan should be started in all formats (Unless you have Brees, Rodgers, or Brady on your roster)

Week 1 - Matt Ryan and the Falcons take their new offense on the road to Kansas City to open up the 2012 season.  After a spectacular preseason, expectations are high for Ryan as fantasy owners will be looking for him to join the elite tier of QB’s in the NFL.  Ryan is locked in as a top 10 option this week even against the 6th-best passing defense from a season ago.  Remember the Chiefs played against such standouts as the Broncos (Tebow) and Raiders (Palmer) 4 times last season, so that skewed their passing defense numbers quite a bit.

Preseason Analysis

Matt Ryan is in for a breakout season in 2012. The new look Atlanta Falcons will feature an uptempo, no huddle offense, and with speedy options at receiver we are projecting Ryan to get very close to a 5,000 yard season. If the top 5 QB’s are all off the board, you will want to seriously consider Matt Ryan as a #1 QB in fantasy football 2012.
