Eli Manning

Week 10 - Make that two bad weeks for Eli now as he threw for just 125 yards on 10 of 24 passing with 0 TD’s and an INT.  Blame the play calling for this one as Manning was allowed to throw just 24 times, and expect Tom Coughlin to get back to the pass in week 10 as the Giants take on the Bengals.  Keep Manning active as a low QB1, and expect a bounce back performance from the 2 time super bowl champ.

Week 9 - Manning had a down game in week 8, even though his Giants pulled out the victory against the Cowboys, as he threw for 192 yards, 0 TD’s and 1 INT.  Don’t let one bad apple spoil the bunch though, Manning will be right back at it in week 9, and he remains locked in as a top 10 QB in fantasy football.

Week 6 - E. Manning has his work cut out for him in week 6 as he takes on the elite San Francisco 49ers defense.  He is still one of the premier QB’s in fantasy football, and remains a QB1 in all formats.  Only bench him if you have another top 10 option with a better matchup.

Week 5 - Eli had another nice game against the Eagles as he threw for 309 yards, 2 TD’s and 1 INT in week 4.  Eli gets the Browns with no Joe Haden at shutdown corner in week 5, he remains a must start in 2012.

Week 4 - Looks like Eli is the Manning to own in 2012 as he is currently averaging 19 fantasy points per game coming out of week 3, and heading into week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles.  Eli is a must start option these days as he is playing like one of the NFL’s elite.  His week 3 stats against the Panthers – 27/35, 288 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT.  Passer rating of 110.2.

Week 3 – So Eli follows up that disappointing week 1, with a 500 passing yard performance in week 2.  You read that correctly, and no the 5 isn’t upside down.  Eli Manning threw for over 500 yards, but this is what his fantasy owners signed up for.  He won’t be a consistent option at QB, but you have to start him based on his potential to unload a 400 yard game at any given moment, and this week 3 matchup with the Panthers looks like one of those prime moments.

Week 2 - Eli had one of the most disapointing week 1 performances as he put up a measley 12.52 points, and he will be looking to right the ship against the Tampa Bay Bucs in week 2.  The Bucs looked like they had an improved defense under coach Greg Schiano in their week 1 matchup, but that was just one week.  Expect Manning to do his normal Jekyll and Hyde, and bounce back from his poor performance last week.  Eli still ranks as a top 10 QB to start for week 2.

Week 1 - Eli Manning and the Giants open the season with a bang as they welcome visiting Dallas in the opener. Want some good news?  Last season in their 2 matchups with the Cowboys, Manning threw for 400 yards, and 346 yards, for a combined total of 5 TD’s and 1 pick.  Expect another high scoring game as the Cowboys return most of their players from one of the leagues worst passing defenses in 2011 (23rd), and Manning should be locked in as the starting QB for the vast majority of fantasy formats.

Preseason Analysis

Eli Manning elevated his game to a new level in 2011, as he threw for 4,933 yards while taking his team to another Super Bowl championship.  He still throws way too many interceptions, and that doesn’t look like it will change anytime soon, but with Nicks and Cruz sticking around in NY, he has plenty of weapons to rack up the yards once again in 2012, and is a decent option as a #1 QB in fantasy football once again.
