Week 4 - The Green Bay Packers have faced a number of weak offenses early in the season (49ers/Seahawks), but they have also recorded 12 sacks and 4 INT’s. They are averaging 10 points a week so far in 2012 without the benefit of a defensive TD (Randall Cobb did return 1 punt for TD). Week 4 figures to be a shootout with Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints, but the Saints are in the top 10 in turnovers in the NFL thus far, which bodes well for the Packers D. They may give up some points, but get them active in all formats as the Packers are also likely to force a few turnovers.
Week 2 – It was a bad sign in Week 1 that the Packers defense couldn’t stop or intercept the likes of Alex Smith, and now they have to take on the more potent Jay Cutler and the Bears. The good news is that Cutler has the gunslinger/ Brett Favre mentality, and there is a much higher likelihood of an interception or pick 6 in this game. The bad news? The Packers could give up 35+ points which would be negative points in many fantasy formats. If you have a better defensive matchup on your bench you may want to consider it this week.
