Falcons

Week 4 - After 2 consecutive weeks of shutting down solid QB’s in Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers, the Atlanta Falcons jump to #2 on our weekly projections.  They have totaled 36 fantasy points so far on the young season, averaging 12 points a week.  In week 4 they get set to face a Carolina team that has done a very poor job of protecting the football, and the Falcons will be hungry for more INT’s and fumble recoveries. If they are on waivers, pick up the Falcons for this week 4 matchup with the Panthers, they are a must start.

Week 2 – One of the bad things about the hurry up offense, is that while the offense is scoring more points, and faster, the defense is also on the field more, giving them more opportunities to give up points. Week 1, Matt Cassel drove the ball down the field with impunity against the Falcons D, but 2 second half picks and a fumble rescued the fantasy scoring (+3 sacks as well), giving the Falcons 9 fantasy points overall. Now with Peyton Manning coming to town, the Falcons are a borderline play at best, and they are best left to the deepest of fantasy formats for this matchup.
