Iman Shumpert will be sidelined for about 3-4 months once the 2012 NBA season kicks off thanks to offseason knee surgery. He had a good start to his NBA career in 2011 with averages of 9.5 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 2.8 APG, and 1.7 SPG, but he is not a draft and stash talent. Once he returns from injury, he figures to regain the starting SG role for the New York Knicks unless J.R. Smith has a breakout season. Keep an eye out for Shumpert if you are hurting at SG in January or February of 2013.
