Daily Fantasy Football Plays – Thanksgiving Edition
- Updated: November 28, 2013
Happy Turkey Day Everyone! Hopefully everyone will enjoy spending some time with their families while watching my Lions knock the Packers all over Ford Filed. J
Today’s plays will be just for Thanksgiving Day games only. Let’s get right to this and see what players look like they should shine on Turkey Day.
Tony Romo (Dallas Cowboys): Romo gets a fantastic matchup against the Raiders today who have been torched for over 300 yards passing in three of their last four games. Today Romo will be at home where he has thrown 13 TD’s in five games this season and now will be facing the struggling Raiders secondary; this has the makings of a huge day from Romo and his WR’s.
Matt Flynn (Green Bay Packers): If you are looking for a cheap option at QB Flynn may be the route to take since he will face a Detroit defense that has allowed 16 passing TD’s over the last six weeks. Detroit’s defense is allowing the 11th most fantasy points to opposing QB’s this season and if Detroit gets out to a lead GB will have to pass the ball more against this struggling secondary.
Rashad Jennings (Oakland Raiders): Jennings takes a hit today now that Darren McFadden will be back on the field but from the reports I am reading Jennings will still get awarded the start due to his recent play. Jennings will face a Cowboys defense that ranks dead last for fantasy points allowed to opposing RB’s this season, even with McFadden back we should still see Jennings shine in this offense today.
DeMarco Murray (Dallas Cowboys): It may not seem like it but Murray has scored double-digit fantasy points in six of his last seven games. This week Murray will face an Oakland defense that sits in the middle of the pack for fantasy points allowed to opposing RB’s. Murray is back healthy and seeing his usual workload and with his ability to catch passes out of the backfield we should a strong Turkey Day performance from him.
Dez Bryant (Dallas Cowboys): Are you catching the team yet of loading up against the Raiders today? Bryant gets a matchup with a Raiders defense that is allowing the fifth most fantasy points to opposing WR’s this season. Today contest has a total posted at 48 which is telling me there will be scoring and Dez should be involved in that.
Jordy Nelson (Green Bay Packers): Jordy has gone four straight weeks without finding the end-zone, which will end today. Nelson goes up against a Detroit secondary today who has been torched through the air as of late should be enough for him to finally grab a TD.
Rod Streater (Oakland Raiders): Denarius Moore has been ruled out today which means Streater moves into the number one WR role today for Oakland. This may not be a bad thing considering Streater is on the cheaper end at most sites and gets a matchup with Dallas who allows the 13th most fantasy points to opposing WR’s this season. If you are looking for a value WR Streater has that potential today with a decent matchup to exceed his value.
Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys): There is only one TE I am playing today and that is Witten. None of the other TE’s are catching my eye so I will lean towards Witten on my teams today. Witten will face an Oakland secondary that is getting torched as of late. Witten plays more like a WR and it is going to be tough for Oakland to contain him as a lot of their focus will be on slowing Dez Bryant down.
Heath Miller (Pittsburgh Steelers): If you do not like Witten this week than I would lean towards Miller considering he scored once already this season against Baltimore. Baltimore ranks in the middle of the pack for fantasy points allowed to opposing TE’s so if you want to save a bit on the TE spot look towards Miller.
Baltimore Ravens: The defense on the field are not very impressive today as we have two games with posted totals of 48 or higher which will lead me to the Baltimore against Pittsburgh game that has a total posted of 41. I am leaning Baltimore a bit more than Pittsburgh as the Steelers have struggled to keep Big Ben upright at times this season and have turned the ball over quite a bit. The Ravens look to be the only defense I am going to take in my games today.
